Research has shown that treatment with semaglutide may reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack in people with type 2 diabetes. In this study we will check to see if semaglutide reduces the risk of cardiovascular events such as
heart attack and stroke in people with overweight or obesity.

You may qualify to participate in this study if:

• You have had a brain attack (stroke), or heart attack (myocardial infarction), or have poor circulation (peripheral arterial disease)
• You do not have Diabetes Type 1 or Type 2
• You are 45 years old or older
• You are living with overweight or obesity. A BMI (body mass index of 27 or greater is required.
• You are able to attend regular clinic visits and receive phone calls over a period of 3 to 5 years

If you qualify the following would be provided at no cost to you:

• Study-related care (blood pressure, blood draws, vitals and physical exams), including regular health check-ups
• General talks with a dedicated team of doctors and nurses
• Guidance on healthy lifestyle choices
• Study medication

We invite participants who have had a prior heart attack, stroke, or poor circulation and also have overweight or obesity to apply.

Compensation

Compensation of $80.00 will be provided at the completion of each visit. There are 25 visits for this study.
